OU UCU IT open meeting - TUPE

Dates
Tuesday, July 18, 2017 - 11:30

We are arranging a meeting to talk about TUPE, what you need to know and why we need to fight it.  The first part of the meeting will be open to all IT staff, but the second half of the meeting will be restricted to UCU members (it will be possible to join UCU on the spot).  We must stress that this DOESN’T mean that we accept the outsourcing proposal.  We are continuing to fight the privatisation and are happy to report that the petition now has over 7500 signatures, and we are in discussion with UCU head office about the press strategy for the next phase of the campaign.

However staff are confused about what TUPE means, and we believe you have the right to know.  We will have a UCU solicitor at the meeting to answer your questions, and we will circulate notes afterwards to UCU members who are unable to attend.  Members can send questions in advance to Julian, Kate or ucu@open.ac.uk.  The meeting will be on Tuesday 18th July, starting at 12.30, in CMR11 (Christodoulou meeting room 11 or by Skype).

12.30pm - meeting for all OU IT staff then from 1pm is for UCU members only.
