Associate Lecturer survey

We would like to invite you to take part in this short survey of Associate Lecturers, carried out by the OU branch of UCU. The survey is open to all Associate Lecturers (whether or not they are UCU members), and we would encourage you to share the link with AL colleagues by email. A link to the survey will also be posted in the AL Common Room.

The survey aims to capture a snapshot of how you currently feel about working at The Open University and should take only a few minutes to complete. The survey will close at midnight on 31st March, and a summary of findings will be used to inform UCU's position and to inform and evidence our discussions with OU management.

Responses are anonymous and individuals cannot be identified. You will need to be logged into Microsoft 365 using your OU email address in order to access the survey. This is purely so we can be sure everyone responding is an OU AL, but your name/identity will not be attached to your survey responses. (Survey link: short survey

Some questions are based on the regular OU staff barometer survey (so that we can compare the results with previously collected data). Others are specific to the impact of the OU’s decision to delay the implementation of the Associate Lecturer contract.

Having completed the survey, if you find you would like to offer more detailed comments or seek advice about your individual situation, please contact ucu@open.ac.uk. If you are struggling with your mental wellbeing, support is available from the Employee Assistance Programme and from other sources listed under 'Wellbeing' on the C-19 page of Tutor Home.
