The Spark

The Spark was our branch newsletter and amongst its aims were to promote discussion of issues relating to our employment with the Open University and in Higher Education in general, and to keep the various categories of OU staff that we represent, in touch with each other. The newsletter is called "the Spark" after the London-based newspaper "Iskra", or in English, the Spark, which was founded in 1900 and Leon Trotsky was one of its writers.  Due to workload pressures we have not produced an issue of the Spark since June 2017 but we send regular email bulletins to our members.
