Shivanti Lowton - Equality Officer

Shivanti has worked at the Open University since 2021. She is currently an Associate Lecturer in Education. She has taught in both statutory and higher education institutions and has been an active trade union member since 1996. She is a UCU AL Rep, caseworker and one of the Equality Officers (role share) for the branch.

Shivanti also sits on the national UCU Black Member’s Standing Committee, the national UCU Anti-Casualisation Committee and is the UCU representative on the TUC Race Relations Committee.
